"Graphite" Series – Miguel Ángel Aranda
Original graphic work on antique paper
The "Graphite" series is born from the most intimate exploration of pencil drawing. In these works, artist Miguel Ángel Aranda delves into the lines, chiaroscuro, and expression of the human figure and face, with an approach that combines technical precision and emotional sensitivity. Each piece was originally executed in graphite pencil on prepared board and subsequently photographed for printing on an original page from the French magazine La Petite Illustration, published between 1900 and 1950.
These vintage pages, originally intended to capture theatrical texts premiered in Paris, now serve as a poetic and visual medium for new graphic narratives. The combination of contemporary lines and paper steeped in history transforms each work into an authentic, unique, and unrepeatable piece.
In addition, some of the prints have been manually inked with white ink by the artist himself, reinforcing the handcrafted and exclusive nature of the work.

About La Petite Illustration – art stamp
La Petite Illustration is an artistic imprint dedicated to the production of contemporary graphic work on recycled media. We work exclusively with original pages from vintage publications, primarily from the French magazine of the same name, which, during the first half of the 20th century, published plays premiered in Paris. These reclaimed pages serve as the backdrop for illustrations, collages, and prints that breathe new life into old paper.
Each piece is a combination of history, art, and sustainability, designed for those who value authenticity and handmade.
