Celestial Bodies are a set of pictorial works that represent our home in the universe. Our solar system. This painting is handmade by me; Miguel Angel Aranda.
The painting of the planet Uranus evokes the sea due to its intense ultramarine blue color. With an intense blue look, this painting and its size is an exceptional work of art. In its mass of intense blue, in the material you can see the sanding and scraping marks, with the intention of creating that aspect of movement that is seen in the atmosphere of the planet. A forceful piece with a lot of strength, which requires a good place for its exhibition, spacious and bright.
A little about his discovery:
Shortly after its discovery, Neptune was called, simply, "the planet that follows Uranus" or "the planet of Le Verrier". The first suggestion of a name came from Galle, who proposed the name Janus. In England, Challis introduced the name Ocean. In France, Le Verrier proposed that the new planet be called Le Verrier, a suggestion that was not well received outside France.
Meanwhile, on separate and independent occasions, Adams proposed changing uranus' name to Georgia, while Le Verrier suggested Neptune for the new planet. Struve came out in favor of that name on December 29, 1846, at the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences. In Roman mythology, Neptune was the god of the sea, identified with the Greek Poseidon. The demand for a mythological name seemed to be in keeping with the nomenclature of the other planets, all of which were named after Roman deities.
The name of the planet literally translates as star of the sea king in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese (海王星 in Chinese characters, 해왕성 in Korean).
In India, the name given to the planet is Varuna (Devanagari: वरुण), the god of the sea in Hindu/Vedic mythology, the equivalent of Poseidon/Neptune in Greco-Roman mythology.
The series of paintings of Celestial Bodies is composed of ten pictorial works that represent the stars of our solar system. From the Sun to Pluto. Its organic and irregular forms evoke the capricious sense of nature. Then, with a base of acrylics as spot colors generate different shapes and colors that best represent each planet. To finish the work I have painted a human and feminine face to each piece painting in oil the most significant and expressive features of the human being; eyes, nose and mouth. The result is a beautiful and original artistic piece that we can label within a surrealist pop of great visual and colorful impact.
The painting bears a Certificate of Authenticity printed on paper and affixed to the back of the painting.
